Possession of the Castle

Possession of Bodiam Castle passed through many generations, untill their line became extinct. Richard III then became the king in 1483. The castle was then confiscated. Then Henry VII of the House of Lancaster became king in 1485, two years after Richard III. By the start of the English Civil War in 1641, John Tufton was in possession of the castle.
